Why?

A tomb stone or grave marker is sacred and meaningful. At the Western State Hospital Historic Patient Cemetery, many grave markers have deteriorated significantly. We have replaced unreadable numbered concrete markers with identities etched in granite. We continue our work of honoring the dignity of passed patients and their families.
